Camp Description Here's
something a little different for the adventurous young musician - or any
adult musicians who would like to learn how to compose. This composition
forum is geared towards musicians of any age who would like the
opportunity to compose and have their works performed with the help of an
accomplished composer, Mr. Eddie Lewis.
In this symposium, students will
compose pieces specifically for the instruments of the students in the
camp. We expect this to be a very fun and entertaining approach to a
subject which typically intimidates people. Mr. Lewis will show you how to
get started and how to finish. Mr.
Lewis' composition professor, Dr. Joseph Packales, is a man who stressed
finding what works for the individual. In that way, Dr. Packales helped
Mr. Lewis develop his own musical style over the years. That is our goal
for this symposium. We want to help the students to learn how to express
their own personal feelings, experiences and ideas in a musical idiom.
